Tina was an Italian American photographer, model, actor, and revolutionary political activist.

Poet Pablo Neruda wrote Modotti’s epitaph, these are his words:

Pure your gentle name,

pure your fragile life,bees, shadows, fire, snow, silence and foam,

combined with steel and

wire andpollen to make up your firm

and delicate being.
